Friday Lecture Series - It will be largely drawn from a book entitled Christian Marriage: A Historical Study published by Eerdmans will serve as a springboard for the series of lectures. Many of the lectures will be given by the authors of various chapters of that book, outlining the development of marriage in the Church and society.

Professor John M. Haas, former John Cardinal Krol Professor of Moral Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, is president of the International Institute for Culture and The National Catholic Bioethics Center.  
 
The Second Vatican Council addressed marriage in its Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World. Despite the obvious orthodoxy and beauty of this Constitution, there have been authors who have appealed to its language to present an understanding of marriage which is not faithful to the Catholic tradition.
