Workshop for Parents - "Today's Literature
and the Battle for your Child's Mind" Workshop

Noted Catholic novelist Michael D. O’Brien at Ivy Hall 
 
Michael O’Brien is author of the best selling contemporary Catholic novel, Father Elijah, which sold more than 40,000 copies which was the first in his acclaimed Children of the Last Days series.  
 
Workshop for Parents (and interested older students) 
 
On Saturday morning, November 17, Mr. O'Brien will give a workshop for parents on "Today's Literature and the Battle for your Child's Mind." Mr. O’Brien is the author of A Landscape with Dragons which is an examination of the phenomenon of contemporary pagan influence in children's culture. With the novels of Philip Pullman soon to be released as movies, parents will be interested to hear Mr. O’Brien’s analysis of the effect these influences have on our children’s ability to discriminate between good and evil.

Times & Cost:  
 
Saturday Workshop, 9:30 AM to Noon. 
$20 for Adults 
$15 for Students 
 
A continental breakfast will precede the Saturday morning workshop. Participants may wish to attend Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on the corner of Lancaster and 63rd Street at 8:30. 
 
Baby-sitting services will be provided for $5.00 per child; maximum $10 per family.
