Learn Spanish and Experience Hispanic Culture

SPIRITUAL EXERCISES:
 
Daily Mass, the Divine Office, and the Rosary will be provided daily in Spanish. There will also be opportunities for days of recollection, confession, and other devotional practices.
 
MISSION:
 
Participants will have opportunities for mission work, such as, serving the poor of the Sierra Madres, visiting a hospital for AIDS patients, as well as helping in poor neighborhoods around Puebla.
 
PARISH INVOLVEMENT:
 
The Archbishop of Puebla has appointed a priest of the archdiocese to assist in placing program participants in parishes when their Spanish has reached an adequete level of competence.
 

COSTS:
 
$3,950 for Language Instruction, Language Books, History and Cultural Instruction, Tours, Room and Board. Participants are responsible for travel expenses to Mexico City. We suggest approximately $600 to $900 for personal expenses (toiletries, dining out, souvenirs, etc.).
 
SCHOLARSHIPS:
 
In the past, the Catholic Church Extension Society has awarded partial and full scholarships to IIC program participants from mission dioceses. If you are from a mission diocese, please be sure to inquire with the Catholic Church Extension Society about possible scholarships. (www.catholic-extension.org)
